Terms and Conditions

Choose a Package:
Choose one of the 4 packages that are available (A – D), with an option to purchase a “maintenance package”. These can be extended at the prices shown under the “Additional Benefits” section. A custom made package may be available, at the discretion of Cove Web Design. No refund will be given if a customer decides that the package is too large for their requirements, unless notified within 48 hours of the agreement commencing. Provide the Material:
Customers will be responsible for providing the necessary material for the website – pictures, documents, wording. These will either by provided on CD-Rom or by e-mail if the files are not too large. If the material has not been received within two months of the first invoice, the full amount will be payable before the website can be built.

If information is supplied as hard copies “document copying” costs will be added to the package price.

Content on Customers Website:
Cove Web Design will not take responsibility for content and material supplied by the customer for use on the website. However, if it is felt that the content is unsafe in any way it will not be published and the customer will be advised as to why.

Copyright of material supplied:
It will be the responsibility of the customer to ensure that any images or other material submitted to Cove Web Design for inclusion on the customers website does not have copyright constraints. If any such material is used it will be the sole and complete responsibility of the customer, and any action taken by a third party will be taken against the customer.

Hosting and Search Engines:
Companies will be used to provide hosting and search engine facilities. The cost will be passed onto the customer with an administration fee added at the rate listed.

When and How to Pay:
Cheques are to made payable to Mrs A Venner.
At the commencement of the agreement, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total fee will be payable. The deposit will not be refunded if the customer then cancels the agreement. Work will not start on the website until payment has been received. The remainder will be due when the website is complete, has been agreed by the customer and has been tested. The website will not be published until the final payment has been received and has cleared.

Any additional work will be charged at the rates specified under “Additional Benefits ”. In the case of a large amount of additional work, a non refundable deposit of 50% of the anticipated cost will be required before work commences, with the remainder due when the work is complete - additional work will not be published until payment has been received and has cleared.

Maintenance Packages can be purchased at any time, if this is after the original agreement commences the full amount will be payable at the time of purchase. These must be used within a year of purchase.

Maintenance can also be carried out on a "pay as you go" basis, charged at the hourly rate advertised. If payment has not been received within 14 days of invoice, any updates which have been published will be removed from the website until it has been received in full.

Payment can be made by cheque or postal order payable to Mrs A Venner. Customers will be advised of any changes in the tariff. Payments not received within 30 days of the invoice will incur interest. This will be calculated daily at the published base rate of Lloyds Bank PLC. Any unpaid cheques will incur a fee of £20, to cover the additional work involved in obtaining the payment.  

The website remains the property of Cove Web Design until all invoices are paid by the customer.

Completion of work - timescales:
The first invoice for the non-refundable deposit will indicate a completion timescale, however this will be dependant on any unforeseen difficulties, or if unable to contact the customer to confirm information or instructions.

Updates:
Updates to a website should be sent by e-mail, on disc or memory stick. If the latter two methods are used customers should send an e-mail to advise that the work is on its way. Customers are responsible for the disc or stick whilst in transit.

Completion of amendments will be carried out as soon as possible, with the aim to complete them within two weeks of receipt. Work will be completed for customers on a "first come, first served" basis.
If there are urgent amendments to be carried out, contact Alison Venner to discuss. A premium of £15 per hour or part of will be added to the published rate for pay-as-you-go customers; if a maintenance package is being used a separate invoice will be raised for the premium.

Security:
Under no circumstances will your personal details be passed on to any third party without your written approval.

Links to Cove Web Design will be inserted on as many pages as desired by the company.
